Whitewater Ski Area is partly a ski touring experience with long traverses seeking untrampled powder part of the skiers day. The surrounding bowls and ridges offer a huge expanse of technical ski touring and the high elevation offers a deep powder experience long after the last snowfall. The ski touring is through steep terrain and many of the classic runs are obviously very susceptible to unstable conditions – the avalanche torn trees only begin to tell the story….
