Weather Forecast
December is the best powder
skiing. Our terrain needs about a metre snowpack for good skiing
which is usually achieved at the end of November. This is when
the faceshots could be every day. Trail breaking is deep and
groups tend to ski trees as visibility is low. Temperatures average
-10C during the day.
January is starting to ease off on the snow and the snow
remains powder even on the south facing slopes. Skiing is good
on all aspects, and all elevations. Similair temperatures to
December with a few more sunny days.
February is often chosen as the best of both worlds as
storms roll in 4-5 times a month but with short spells of clear
weather. Choosing terrain starts to become aspect dependant.
Temperatures can vary from -2C to -10C during the day.
March is the start of spring and the time to look at the
high alpine big lines. 3-4 storms can drop huge quantities of
snow with skiers staying on the north and east facing slopes.
The days are long making it great times for longer tours.
April is very much like March however the temperatures
can easily move above 0C and skiers are heading up high early
in the morning and staying on the peaks and bowls. Spring skiing,
north facing powder pockets and the occassional storm makes for
great skiing with awesome visibility.
